One thing that I always remember about Tom was how he was never afraid to show his love and affection - no matter who was around. Grandma was so proud of the fact that the other grandmas that she went to church with every day were jealous of her because every time her grandson was on the school playground and saw her, he always ran up to give her a kiss. None of the other women's grandchildren would do that. Tom didn't care who was watching or if the other kids teased him about it. He loved his Grandma and wasn't afraid to show it!
When he was about 16 he worked in Shaw's market bagging groceries. Mom and I went into Shaw's for something. I purchased a bag of Hershey kisses and went up to him and said "A kiss for a kiss?" He gave me a big kiss in the front of the store. When the other kids jeered him he turned around and said "She's my sister, can't you see by her eyes?"
I miss those dancing eyes of yours! You could just see by the twinkle in them that you were about to get into mischief. No matter how much you teased or annoyed us girls, one twinkle from those eyes and I would forgive you anything! When I went to Bermuda at age 11, I brought your picture with me and kissed it every night. Many mornings, on my way out to work, I still kiss your picture.
I miss you and will love you forever sweetie!
